About myself

Hello / Servus / Привет,

my name is Matthias, currently living in Munich, working as a software developer at JetBrains. My enthusiasm is dedicated to everything around software testing, clean code, productivity tools and team building.

Originally I’m from a small town close to Magdeburg. After school I studied at the Otto-von-Guericke University and finished my master degree in Computer Systems in Engineering with specialization in automotive systems and mechanical engineering. The two thesis that I’ve written are dealing with Two-handed Interactions in Immersive Realities, and Aspect-oriented Programming in CSharp.

At JetBrains I’m working in the ReSharper team; mostly on the JavaScript/TypepScript subsystem. Occasionally, you can meet me at conferences or see me speaking at user groups around Germany. If time allows I’m trying to fix some lurking issues in our YouTrack which sound promising. Features having a remarkable impact on productivity will certainly catch my eyes. If you want to draw my attention to something specific, just drop me a message!

In my spare time I’m working on TestFx - a fundamental library for rapid proto-typing new test frameworks. It’s idea began in 2013 when I was working in Vienna. At that time my team and I agreed on the fact, that existing frameworks were just not enough. So we started to design a comprehensive and extendable fluent interface for writing concise and flexible tests. This invention was later called SpecK and was built just on top of TestFx.

You can get in contact with me at any time about any topics I’ve just mentioned!

I hope you’ll enjoy some of my writings!
